Rest on the Seventh Day
Rest on the Seventh Day
On the Seventh Day – You should rest
EXODUS 23:12

The law to rest on the Sabbath, the seventh day, is based on a Hebrew three-word phrase in the Torah: “On the seventh day you should rest”. Its Gematriart palette is a distinctive trichromatic colour scheme; red, green and violet.

Mixing red, green and violet light in the required balance (as with red, green and blue), results in white light. This is an ideal recipe with which to represent Shabbat (the Sabbath) – the day of rest, which is associated with the colour white.

Inspired by the colour sequence, the law to rest on Shabbat, is presented in the form of two Shabbat candles (or angels); red, green and violet light sources merging to form a flame of white light – where all three colours combine.
